A Blue Monkey Conversation took place for our July event. The conversation was titled Controversial Art and Artists, and addressed the following ideas: Why do people shun some artists’ work based on personal lives or behaviour but not others? What contributes to this inconsistency of judgment?
What followed was a lively discussion with some thought-provoking ideas, punctuated with examples of artists' work past and present, ranging from Caravaggio, Eric Gill, Yoko Ono, Tracey Emin and even Rolf Harris!
