For our first event of 2025, we were delighted to have been given out-of-hours access to the current Drawing the Unspeakable exhibition at Towner. We had a short amount of time to look around the exhibition first and then Blue Monkey Network member June Nelson led the evening where 7 Blue Monkey members shared their thoughts on one or a series of drawings in the exhibition, followed by a discussion. It was a really great evening with so many interesting perspectives and observations and a really good way to learn more about how we all respond to artworks.
Blue Monkey Network would like to say a big thank you to our 7 speakers who took part. Our speakers were Jenny Shorter, Sheila Hay, Nikki Davidson-Bowman, Stephanie Robertshaw, Agi Read, Chris Shaw Hughes and Terry Anazadie.
Thank you also to June Nelson for curating the evening and leading us around as well as providing insight into the background of the exhibition and to Kathleen Dawson for checking us all in.
