We receive, collect and store the information you enter on our website via our online forms on the Members and Contact Us page (provided by Wix.com), Membership form (provided by Google Forms or as a downloadable Word document), and Subscribe form (provided by Mailchimp) or information given to us in any other way.

Personal data collected for this purpose includes the member’s first name and second name, email address, artist statement, and details of work they wish to show on the site, personal website address, and social media accounts such as Instagram.
Members are made aware that they can withdraw their consent at any time by contacting the website editor via email on the About page of this site. 
   

• Contact us and Join Page

  Mandatory personal data collected for this purpose includes the member’s first and second name and email address.
  
  Bank details will only be collected by our bank when payment is made by bank transfer for payment of the Membership fee. We do not collect Member’s bank details directly through our website.
   

• Emails and Subscribing to our Mail-Out
  
E-mails sent to members will not disclose the e-mail address of any other person. Email addresses are stored and collected by us for the following reasons:  Personal email addresses will be used by us for contact information. We will always ask permission first before this information is put on our website.  Members are made aware that they can unsubscribe to the mailing list at any time by using the link provided on the mail-out email.

We collect this data to help with the general management of the Blue Monkey Network. This includes:
 

• Sending out information by email, or website and in paper form

• Maintaining membership and payment records

• Maintaining the Blue Monkey Network website

• Promotion and advertising of the Blue Monkey Network including running The Blue Monkey Network meetings, events, and exhibitions

   

How We Store Your Data

All data is stored securely and the only people with access to members’ contact data will be members of the managing committee. Personal information will only be used to contact you for and on behalf of the Blue Monkey Network and will not be shared with other members, other than with your explicit consent, or any third parties for any reason.



Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to promote our organisation, and events and collect information using their data collection form tools. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

Data Retention

Blue Monkey Network member’s contact details will be stored indefinitely unless we are explicitly asked to remove them. The committee requests that contact details are retained in case the leaving member might want to re-join in the future.

Guest speaker’s contact details or contact details of other similar arts organisations are normally held indefinitely or until it is requested to be deleted by the individual or organisation.

General records, including meeting minutes, will normally be held for 6 years after the end of the financial year to which they relate.

The Blue Monkey Network may retain historical archives indefinitely, for example, but not limited to, records and images of meetings, and other events.
 

Consent to receive marketing information

The Blue Monkey Network is not permitted under the GDPR to send members third-party marketing information without your consent. 
 
Your Right to access the data we hold and withdraw consent

You have the right to see your personal data held by the Blue Monkey Network or require that it be updated, deleted, or destroyed, by giving your instruction in writing to the Blue Monkey Network Management team.
