I am a self-taught visual artist based in East Sussex. I draw on my training in architecture to help create paintings that explore form, space, and colour, and though my current work is borne of observation, it sometimes moves into the realm of abstraction. Through meticulous observation I look to distil the essence of my subjects, whether in portraiture, still life, or landscape. By stripping away noise and detail, I invite the viewer to find their own connection with the painting, the subject, and themselves. I have developed my artistic language and technique under Andy Pankhurst, a student and lifelong friend of Euan Uglow. I have been painting for 20 years and have shown locally and nationally, including shows at Towner Eastbourne, the Mall Galleries and Royal Academy, London.
